The role of the Department of Community Development is all encompassing in order to prepare and deliver improved services and programs to the community. Its scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Active Living (organized sports, recreation, etc.)
- Community and Recreational Facilities/Parks, Trails, Tracks & Playgrounds
- Accessibility
- Arts, Culture, and Heritage
- Marketing/Communications
- Community Engagement
- Land Use Planning
- Community and Tourism Development
- Festivals and Special Event
The Department of Community Development works in partnership with the business community, community members, local organizations, stakeholders and various federal and provincial government departments/agencies, as appropriate.
