Traffic Notices for Johnny Miles Running Event Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17, 2018
Please note the following changes in vehicle traffic flow for the towns of New Glasgow and Stellarton. All streets will be open to pedestrian traffic as usual during the Johnny Miles Running Event.
Saturday, June 16: Provost Street from George Street to MacLean Street will be closed to traffic from 6:00pm until Sunday, June 17 at 6:00pm,
Sunday, June 17: Provost Street will remain closed on Sunday, from George Street to Maclean Street, The George Street Bridge will be closed from 6:30am until 1:00pm to ensure the safety of all runners.
The northbound lane from Canary Drive New Glasgow to Bridge Avenue Stellarton (Abercrombie Road, Stellarton Road, and Foord Street) will be closed from 6:30am to 1pm.
Bridge Avenue, Stellarton will be closed with only southbound traffic allowed from 6:30am until 11:00am.
Cameron Avenue, Terrace Heights Drive and Terrace Street will be closed from 6:30am until 1:00pm.
The Trans-Canada Highway Exit 24 Eastbound ramp will be closed from 8:30am until 1:00pm.
There will be no vehicle access to the New Glasgow Marina on Sunday, June 17 between 6:30am-1:00pm and Glasgow Square Theatre Parking Lot on Sunday, June 17 is closed until 6pm.
Expect delays on June 17, 2018, between the hours of 600am until 1:00pm.

On June 13, 2018 at approximately 1:46 a.m. New Glasgow Regional Police was called to the scene of a robbery at the Comfort Inn located at 740 Westville Road in New Glasgow. Staff reported that a man had entered the hotel lobby through the front door, approached the front desk, produced a knife and demanded cash. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of money.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately between the height of 5’5”and 5’9” tall with a small build. He was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark sunglasses.

On June 8th 2018 at approximately 7:00pm New Glasgow Regional Police arrested a 40 year old adult male at a Forbes Street New Glasgow residence.
The 40 year old adult male from New Glasgow was arrested as a result of an investigation of a two motor vehicle collision that took place on Thursday June 7 2018 approximately 7:30 am.
The collision involved, the driver of a grey Mercedes SUV and a blue Jeep at the intersection of Almont Avenue and Bernard Street. The driver of the Mercedes fled the scene and the lone female driver was treated by Emergency Health Services at the scene for non life threatening injuries.
Both vehicles suffered extensive damages and Almont Avenue was closed to traffic in both directions for approximately two hours.
