At approximately 2:20am on Friday January 16, 2015 New Glasgow Regional Police arrested a 25 year old adult male driver on East River Road New Glasgow for impaired Operation of a motor vehicle. Upon investigation police charged the 25 year old from Pictou County with impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle Refusal, Resisting Arrest, Breach of Probation and Breach of Recognizance. The driver was held in police custody overnight and will be appearing in Pictou Provincial Court today.
New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision sending one male to hospital.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. today, New Glasgow Regional Police, EHS and New Glasgow Fire Department attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Riverside Parkway and MacLean Street. Preliminary investigation determined a man was crossing the intersection from west to east when a vehicle travelling southbound on Riverside Parkway collided with the man.
The 61-year-old Pictou County man was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation and a decision on charges has not been made at this time.
