Green Room Session with James Gray

Glasgow Square Theatre in partnership with 'East Coaster Studios' is excited to welcome James Gray with Connor Carruthers as they make their Glasgow square debut.

James Gray is a contemporary version of an old-school traveling folk singer. In the past decade, Gray has toured throughout Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand seeing the world and sharing his beloved songs along the way. A unique finger style guitarist, with a vocal that is hauntingly beautiful.

James has released four albums including, Daydreamer, that released this May. In 2019 James won himself a spot at The Mariposa Folk Festival through their showcase auditions. James has since been invited to perform at 5 Mariposa folk events, The Northern Lights Festival Boreal, 2 Troubadour Festivals, The Muskoka Music Festival and recently James was a headliner at the Roots North Music Festival.

James will be joined by Connor Carruthers who will open the show. Connor is an Ontario based songwriter with strong ties to Pictou County. Connor has opened shows for Terra Spencer, taken the stage with Jud Gunning in North Bay and performed at The BARn in Sundridge, Ontario. Connor takes his guitar and songwriting inspiration from some of his musical heroes like Garnet Rogers, Bruce Cockburn, Joel Plaskett, Dave Gunning, J.P. Cormier, Lennie Gallant and Terra Spencer. Connor helps to run East Coaster Studios with his father.
