Make Your Move New Glasgow
What is Make Your Move New Glasgow?
MYMNG is a community-driven initiative with the vision of creating a cultural shift where simple movement becomes a social norm and residents feel empowered to incorporate more simple movement into their daily lives.
Simple Movement
Simple movement is activity that can easily fit into daily life in small amounts. Examples include standing to break up sitting time, unstructured active play, biking, gardening and walking (in the ways we walk).

Municipal Active Living Strategy
The Municipal Active Living Strategy has been informed by a public engagement process which gathered data from the community from November 2023 to January 2025. The focus areas and objectives outlined in the plan reflect the results of the public engagement. The Town of New Glasgow is committed to achieving it’s vision of a cultural shift where simple movement becomes the social norm. Replacing sedentary behavior with simple movement opportunities such as neighbourhood walks, gardening, household chores, taking the stairs and parking a bit further away from your destination as part of a daily routine contributes to a healthy 24 hours as defined in the Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines.
