New Glasgow Fire Department Santa Claus Parade

New Glasgow, November 20, 2025:

The New Glasgow Fire Department is proud to announce the return of a beloved community tradition - the 2025 New Glasgow Fire Department Santa Claus Parade, taking place on Saturday, November 29, at 5:30 p.m.

This year’s parade will once again bring the sights and sounds of the holiday season to the streets of downtown New Glasgow, featuring festive floats, community groups, local organizations, and special guests.

The Honorary Parade Marshals for this year’s event are Henderson and Carol Paris, recognized for their decades of leadership, dedication, and community impact”. With the New Glasgow 150 “Tribute to the Legacy of the Run Against Racism and Henderson Paris” held earlier this year - and marking 35 years since the Run Against Racism first began - the committee felt it was especially fitting to celebrate their ongoing influence by having them lead this year’s parade.

“The Santa Claus Parade is one of the most cherished events in our community — a time for families, friends, and neighbours to come together and celebrate the joy of the season,” said New Glasgow Mayor Nancy Dicks. “As we continue to mark New Glasgow’s 150th anniversary, we are truly honoured to have Henderson and Carol Paris lead this year’s parade as our Honorary Parade Marshals. Their leadership, compassion, and commitment to community have made a lasting difference in New Glasgow and beyond.”

"I would like to extend a very special holiday invitation to all local businesses, industries, schools, church and social groups, and local citizens to enter the New Glasgow Fire and Rescue Santa Claus Parade this year, and to support and help make this parade the best Santa Claus Parade ever - not only for the Christmas season and holidays, but also in celebration of the Town of New Glasgow and our 150th year celebrations," said Art MacLean, Co-Chair of the New Glasgow Fire Department Santa Claus Parade Committee.

"The Santa Claus Parade is such a special time for our community. It’s a chance for families, neighbours, and visitors to come together and celebrate the joy of the season. We can’t wait to see everyone along the route, smiling, waving, and sharing in the magic of Christmas." said Trevor MacDonald, Co-Chair of the New Glasgow Fire Department Santa Claus Parade Committee.

The parade route will begin on Granville Street, continue along East River Road, proceed onto Archimedes Street, and finish on Provost Street. To ensure an inclusive experience for all residents, a Sensory-Friendly Zone will be designated from Granville Street to Frederick Street, offering a quieter viewing area for those who prefer reduced sound and lights.

Registration is now open for parade participants, including local businesses, schools, community groups, and organizations interested in entering a float, walking group, or vehicle. Interested participants can register online via the Town of New Glasgow Facebook page, or by contacting .
