New Glasgow Regional Police charge man with Robbery and Assaulting a Peace Officer

On August 09, 2022, at 12:50 p.m., New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Needs Convenience Store on East River Road New Glasgow.
Police immediately responded and located the suspect nearby on MacKay Street. During the arrest, the man attempted to assault the officer and the officer deployed a conducted energy weapon (CEW). He was taken into custody without further incident.
The 34-year-old male from Pictou County was charged with:
- Robbery
- Resisting Arrest
- Assaulting a Peace Officer
The 34-year-old has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Provincial Court in Pictou on Wednesday morning.
