Notice is hereby given that New Glasgow Town Council, at a Public Meeting held on October 15th, 2024, approved a development agreement amendment application by Housing Trust of Nova Scotia to include text & revised Schedule “B”: Site Plan and Schedule “C”: Typical Bldg Elevations/Design Drawings to enable an increase in the number of dwelling units (9 residential dwelling units to14 residential dwelling units).

To appeal in accordance with Section 247 of the Municipal Government Act, an aggrieved person, the applicant, an adjacent municipality, a village in which the affected property is situated, or the Director may within fourteen (14) days of the date of this advertisement, appeal to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board regarding this decision.

Traffic Advisory - Reddick Lane and Izzard Road

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise motorists that Reddick Lane and Izzard Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, and Friday, October 25, 2024.

These closures are necessary to permit road paving work.

Construction is weather dependent and updates to the construction completion will be posted on the Town’s website.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible; detours will be in place.

If you have additional questions about the project, feel free to contact the Engineering Department at (902)755-8351 for more information. The Town of New Glasgow regrets any inconvenience this may cause and thanks you for your cooperation.

Traffic Advisory - MacLean Street and Forbes Street

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise motorists that the following streets will have closures with traffic control in place starting Wednesday, October 23, 2024, and Thursday, October 24 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
• MacLean St. between Albert St. and Grant St. Ext.
• Forbes St. between Albert St. and the Southern End of Forbes St.
These closures are necessary to permit road paving work.

Traffic Advisory - McColl Street

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise motorists and pedestrians that vehicular and foot traffic will be disrupted in the McColl St, Stewart St. & MacDonald St area starting Thursday, October 24, 2024.

Detours and traffic personnel will be in place to guide vehicles and foot traffic as the storm water infrastructure project resumes for this year. Work is expected to be completed by the end of November 2024. Residents living in this area will have vehicle access periodically restricted to their driveways due to pipe laying and concrete work. 

Please proceed cautiously in the vicinity of the work area.

Special Council Meeting - October 30, 2024

The Town of New Glasgow will hold a Special Council Meeting on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the Town Hall, Council Chambers, 111 Provost Street, New Glasgow, NS.
The purpose of this meeting is to complete the official administration of the Oath of Office to the Mayor and Council Members for the upcoming electoral term.
