The Town of New Glasgow acknowledges the significance of Truth and Reconciliation Day, and we proudly proclaim September 30th as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the survivors of residential schools, their families, and Indigenous communities. It is a time for reflection, learning, and a commitment to meaningful reconciliation. Let us stand together in remembrance and work towards a future built on understanding, respect, and justice.

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise residents that a fireworks display has been authorized to be held on Sunday, September 29th, 2024, at 8 p.m. close to 385th block of the Little Harbour Road.

We want to ensure everyone's safety and comfort. Here are some important reminders:
Pets and animals: Fireworks can be very distressing for pets. Please keep your animals indoors and create a safe, quiet space for them during the show. Consider playing some soothing music to help calm them.
Individuals with sensory sensitivities: Fireworks can be overwhelming for those with sensory sensitivities. If you or someone you know may be affected, consider using earplugs and watching from a distance or moving to a quieter area.
General safety tips:
  • Keep a safe distance from the fireworks launch site.
  • Follow all instructions from event organizers and safety personnel.
  • Keep an eye on children and ensure they stay in designated viewing areas.
We hope you enjoy the show safely and responsibly!
