Water Advisory - Water Outage - Westville Road Area

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise customers that there will be a WATER OUTAGE in the Westville Road area starting at 6 p.m. until midnight. The outage is necessary to repair a water main break near 255 Westville Rd.   Work will commence at approximately 6 p.m. and continue until midnight.

Affected areas are: Westville Rd. from Balfour St. south to the Old Halifax Road in the Municipality of the County of Pictou; and Balfour Street.

Traffic Control will be in place.

Traffic Advisory - Walker St. and Washington St.

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise motorists that Walker St. between Nelson St. and Washington St. will be closed with traffic control in place starting Monday, October 21, 2024, to Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Immediately following work on Walker St. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, and Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily Washington St. between MacLean St. and Marsh St. will have the road closed with traffic control in place.

Construction is weather dependent and updates to the construction completion will be posted on the Town’s website.

These closures are necessary to permit road paving work.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible, detours will be in place.

Please be advised that the Town Hall will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024, for Thanksgiving Day, and will reopen on at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Traffic Advisory - Highland Drive

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise motorists that Highland Dr. from the east side intersection of Dover Ave. to Orion Ave. will have traffic control and road closure (except for local traffic) in place periodically starting Monday, October 14, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily for approximately four to six weeks, weather dependent. Updates on the construction completion will be posted on the Town’s website.

This closure is necessary to allow construction work of new curb/gutter and road resurfacing along Highland Drive. Homeowners may have restricted access to their driveway. If you have any special requirements during this period, please contact the Engineering and Public Works Department.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible; detours will be in place.
